      Ronald A. Dumroese. Freeport -- Ronald A. Dumroese, 73, of Freeport died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. He worked for Northern Illinois Gas Co. 35 years, retiring in 1986, and then owned and operated Ron's Cane Shop. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, former member of Golden K Kiwanis and Stephenson County Model Railroad Club. Born March 15, 1925, in Chicago, he was the son of E.J. and Gertrude (Kraft) Dumroese. On Sept. 8, 1946, he married Janet Kasten in Freeport. He is survived by his wife; his children, Ruth (Paul) Heaton of Elk Grove California, Rhoda (Ted) Fink of Lanark and Kas (Deborah) Dumroese of Moscow, Idaho; his grandchildren, Jennifer Kehres of Elk Grove, Peter and Chris Fink of Lanark and Niklaas Dumroese of Moscow; and one sister, Muriel Cannon of Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The funeral will be a [sic] 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Linda Kersten officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. A memorial fund has been established.
