Huber, Clem Henry - World War II Registration Card
Huber, Clem Henry - World War II Registration Card
Clem Henry Huber was residing at 1447 Lawton in Indianapolis and his telephone number was "GA 3447". The record shows he was born on 22 Dec 1886 in Franklin [County], Indiana. He was married to Margarett and worked at Consolidated Construction Company, located at Camp Atterbury, Johnson County, Indiana.

According to Wikipedia, construction of Camp Atterbury commenced shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. More than 1,500 wood frame buildings were constructed, sized to hold more than one army infantry division. During World War II, Camp Atterbury was home to the U.S. 39th Evacuation Hospital, and the 101st Infantry Battalion (Separate) and four U.S. Army infantry divisions, the 30th, 83rd, 92nd, and 106th, trained here. Most likely, Clem helped build Camp Atterbury.

Komm sterb hicher betrachte mich,
Du lebst, ich lebt auf Erden
Was du jetzt bist, das war auch ich,
Was ich bin, wirst du werden.
Du musst hernach, ich bin vorhin;
Gedenke nicht in deinem Sinn,
Das du nicht dürfest sterben.

Come hither mortal consider myself
You live, I live on earth
What you are now, that was I,
What I am, you will be.
You have afterwards, I'm just now;
Remember not in your mind,
That you are not allowed to die.

Status: Located; The inscription appears to be:

Zufriedenheit ist mein Vergnügen
Ales andere las ich Liegen
Und Liebe die Zufriedenheit

Although Charles Huber (her son) indicates "Das andre lasz ich liegen"

This appears to be from a German folk song, Zufriedenheit ist mein Vergnügen (Satisfaction is my Pleasure), of which the actual words are:

Zufriedenheit ist mein Vergnügen
das andere laß ich alles liegen
ich liebe die Zufriedenheit

which translates to:

Contentment (satisfaction) is my pleasure
I let all the others lie
I love contentedness
